So the next DX is going on sale online tomorrow, anyone going to jump to the upgraded version? Duel core is really nice, but not sure if it will be enough for me to want to upgrade. Part of the reason I can say this is I am still more than happy with my DX. Also it will only have 2.2 and I am already on 2.3, which was a huge update from 2.2.

If they would have done duel core, and LTE then we could start talking, throw a front facing camera it would almost be a no brainer to me to upgrade.

This is the first phone that after 9 months I am not counting the days until I have a contract expiring so I can jump to a new phone. I keep watching but nothing has really felt like a huge upgrade and I am not in a LTE city until at least the end of this year. I personally love the form factor of the DX and all it can do.

You're talking about the Tegra. That's what folks seem interested in.

If anyone does pick it up tomorrow I'd like to know what the full retail off contract costs. :)

Im hoping for the Samsung Galaxy S2 when it comes to Verizon will be 4G LTE, Tegra 2 processor, with at least 1 GB of RAM. If that happens, that will be my phone. If it doesn't have LTE I will be put in quite a predicament...

If it isnt, I am hoping the Targa actually exists and has all of the above... But I am kind of scared to stay with Motorola for the locked bootloader, although maybe by then they will unlock that shizz

My contract runs out mid September so they have some time to figure their shit out :D

I just noticed that it has "HDMI Out/Mirror Mode". I'm just interested in grabbing that capability from the X2.

the droid X's processor does not have the specs to output HDMI in the mirror mode. the only reason the X2 can do this is because of the Nvidia processor.

    That sucks.
  17. Im very interested in this phone. Only because the beefy internals and the fact I dont need to get new accessories for it. I may just wait for the targa though cause that phone is looking hella Sexy.

if this phone was 4G with a FFC i would seriously consider it....but im not paying full retail price (not eligible for an upgrade obviously) just for dual core...

Unless something happens to it, I will likely keep the X until my area has LTE and then upgrade to the best LTE phone then available. Maybe the X3??

Same here. My area won't see 4G until early 2013. 5G will probably be out by then. I'm satisfied with 3G. Fast enough to Megaviewer.

If my phone dies and if rumors are true that the DX 2 can do HDMI mirror than I'll opt for the DX 2 as a replacement. Higher resolution screen will be nice.

I'm passing on all of the 4G LTE based phones, they all have an LTE baseband (modem) chip and a second 3G chip from Qualcomm for the voice functions. I have LTE in my market (Arizona) so access to LTE isn't an issue.

They can't do voice over LTE and thus you have power consumption issues. No surprise Apple is going to wait this out.
