I noticed that this tablet comes loaded with Google Books and Lumireader. Does anyone know if Kindle and Nook work on this as well? I know not all of the programs are compatible with Honeycomb yet. I like to use these since they are already on my phone. This and the lack of Netflix are the only things keeping me from getting this device atm.

    1. Download the Forums for Android™ app!

Nook works fairly well... I've tried a few epub compatible readers and thus far, I think I like the Nook software the best so far, even though I don't believe it's fully optimzed for Honeycomb yet. In fact, I haven't tried any that ARE fully optimized for Honeycomb yet (mainly because I can't find any on the Market.)

My 2nd fav is Cool Reader, if that matters. :)

does the kindle app allow to read in portrait and landscape on this tablet?

It does. Landscape is pretty wide and only half the page, portrait seems to work much better.

But the Kindle app doesn't work with epub (or the other open ebook formats) does it? Only the Kindle native and PDF?

I use both Kindle and Nook app on my A500. Both work really well.
I just wish the Kindle app did double pages in landscape like the Nook app does.

The Kindle also works fine with books in MOBI. This is the format Project Gutenberg uses when you download a book from there in the Kindle format.

MOBI is basic plain text, but for most books that's enough.
