Just wondering what phone the early incredible adopters are starting to focus on. I am eligible for an upgrade now, but in december i will be eligible for an "additional" loyalty discount

I haven't heard what's in the works, but for months and months i was following the release of the incredible on this forum, so I was wondering if there was anything similar or has it come down to Thunderbolt or wait patiently for new info?

Not much on the know horizon of Verizon "wows" me as of yet.

December is holiday season, that's when big releases are often made so keep your eyes and ears open.

wait for something worth it, right now nothing out there is a big enough upgrade to switch.

AND hoping 4g is still same as 3g price when waiting is over. Really hope to see a phone as good or preferably better than the sensation come to vzw

Just a little over one year in (pre-orderer here)

Also waiting patiently, nothing wows me yet either. Partly because this phone still rocks, IMO.

What it will be... obvious stuff.

4G-LTE needs to be more widespread... I travel for work
    faster (dual? quad?) processor
    Slightly larger screen
Front camera for mobile video chat

I agree with the assessment that when I can upgrade then I am believing that the right set of circumstances will be there. price, features and LTE network.

    Same here.....1 year in.

Stopped at verizon yesterday just to check out the new stuff.

Nothing had me wishing I could upgrade now.

Most every phone coming out soon will have NFC chip built in and is going to be huge going into 2012.

Hated the size of the Droid X2 and Thunderbolt.

The Incredible 2 was a hair larger than our incredibles.

I picked up a Thunderbolt last night. The problems I was having with my Inc made it almost unusable. The rep there shared some points that might be of interest:

    1) since I didn't have insurance or an extended warranty, he could give me it, then I could make a claim. If they determined it wasn't a hardware issue, they would charge me $89 bucks, but I'd still get a phone for free. OR I could pick up the Thunderbolt for $150, sell my Inc and accessories for 200-300 and profit/recover 2 months of plan.

    2) The loyalty discount went from $100 to $50. Upgrading last night (early upgrade promotion + may promotion) means I'll still have a $50 off my wife's phone when we upgrade.

    3) Data caps are coming soon. If you upgrade now, you won't be subject to them until you re-up next time around.

The above are compelling arguments to upgrade..

My biggest concern for waiting is the coming Data caps...

That said, none of the "new" phones really have what I'm looking for.

    I'd like
    dual core
larger screen (either 4" or 4.3)
    above 800x480 resolution

I really wanted to wait but when my city gets LTE next month I may upgrade so I can get an unlimited data plan. Out of the three LTE phones I'd probably choose the Thunderbolt...

I'm waiting for at minimum a dualcore 4G phone. I refuse to go purchase a new phone with last years hardware and software. I really like the Sensation, but haven't heard of its vw equal anytime soon. Waiting to see what the new version of the Bionic will be like, but if it has Blur=no. I also enjoy having fm radio on my DI and doubt the Bionic will have it. That could detur me as well. However, I may go and just get the best 4G phone at the time, if data caps kick in, so I can get myself grandfathered in an unlimited 4G data plan.

    Waiting patiently as well!

Until something grabs me like the Incredible I am sitting still. I may sound like a broken record but the Incredible popped next to the D1 and the Eris...nothing (other than 4g) has been dazzling since.

I'm waiting patiently for May 2012 when my contract ends. But for now the Incredible is still working great for me. In Jan 2010 I was hoping the N1 would come out on VZW but we got the Incredible instead a fine trade off I guess but I would've preferred stock.

I'm still (foolishly) hoping Google and VZW come to their sense and have a flagship Nexus phone on VZW.

i've had a inc since launch and i still love it. my GF just got the charge, dont get me wrong its awesome and better then the inc, but even thats not good enough to make a switch. im waiting for a 4g, dual core from HTC. my area isnt even getting 4g till September so im going to hang tight for now.

I got the DInc last year when it was first released on a one-year contract (miss those one-year contracts). Bought the Droid Charge when it was first released at full price to evade the 2-year contract. I returned it a week later for a refund. It had problems with locking up when switching from 4G to 3G and 4G just killed the battery in no time. So now I'm waiting for a better phone and it looks like we will be waiting a while.

Considering how slow things are going on the LTE 4G hardware side I am wondering if adopting the CMDA iPhone 4 and it's apparent 'success' has changed Verizon's release plans for other phones.

I'd really like to wait until the holidays when the ASUS Padphone is released. Stupid name but really cool concept that is far superior to the Atrix laptop dock. I just hope it is gets released on Verizon.

I'm perfectly happy with my Dinc. I just hope it doesn't throw a rod or something.
There is nothing out there that has my interest.. not yet anyway.

im happy with the inc. the droid2 and x are too big. i have decent sized hands (i can palm a basketball), but the aforementioned phones are too big. i would be happy with the inc for a while longer. nothing that is out right now appeals to me.

i'm not a power user. just casual web browsing, email, and FB.

i haven't had the opportunity to hold a inc2 yet, but a 4" screen doesn't seem too bad.

I am eligible for an upgrade. However, I love my incredible! But i would consider upgrading to the thunderbolt if it had better battery life. I do not want that extended battery and I would not mind the 4.3 inch screen. I would consider myself a heavy user.

I heard it is faster than my DI.

I think I am going to wait and see what comes out.

I hope I will be able to keep my unlimited data when I actually go to upgrade.

Happy with my Inc too. I liked the Inc 2 size, but no 4g. If HTC came out with Inc 2 sized phone with dual core and 4g, I'd be first in line. The Galaxy S II looks intriguing. Larger screen but really thin and decent battery life. Wonder when Verizon will release that?

4' screen is the sweet spot, my inc1 seems so small now. 4.3' is toooooo big HATE it

Got mine two weeks after release, and nothing on the market today impresses me. My phone still holds up to anything I can throw at it, and I'm not planning on upgrading til' my contract is up next May, by which there should be a nice upgrade from HTC available.
