Help Easiest way to transfer contacts from a storm?

Unfortunately my storms usb cable never worked with my laptop, so i can't do usb, but is there anyway i can sync with some program with bluetooth with some program to put these on my incredible when I get one?

Install Google Sync and sync your contacts straight to your Gmail account. Then when you power up your Incredible for the first time it will prompt you to enter your google account info. This will sync you Gmail contacts to your device.

That was for SURE the easiest transfer I've ever done. It will also do your calendar if you set it that way if I remember correctly.

it says i successfully synced contacts, but when i go to my gmail account and look at my contacts, I dont see any of them there.

As a alternative method, yes, you can use Backup Assistant to get your contacts online, then export as a .csv and import into Gmail.

if backup assistant requires a USB cable, i can't do this, and i have a decent size contact list, not exactly sure but maybe around 100-110

Backup Assistant is done OTA.

Just as a note, BA is downloaded to the phone and you use it just as you would on a feature phone.

I was wondering how to do this myself without having to go into a store to get them transferred. Google sync worked great from my storm and all my contacts are now in my google mail contact list! Thanks for the info!

I never used Google Sync. On my BB I just added my gmail account and it automatically synced my contacts between gmail and my phone.

I used Google sync as well, though it took a few tries before it accepted my not so big contact list. As a side note, Verizon just pushed another icon onto my Storm's home page which happens to be the preloader for the BackupAssistant. Finally they pushed something useful onto the phone instead of all the random crap they usually do! I'm not actually going to use it, but I found it quite humorous.

Yes, BA just became available to BB's beginning in March. Most phones should have it now. So you have several options for backing up and transferring your contacts.
