Hey all, just thought this would help out any noobs or inexperienced users that want to change their Incredible's Splash Screen and boot animation.
I take no credit for developing any of this, just wrote up a little guide for noobs.
All credit goes to App developers of Boot animation changer lite, touchpro247 for his xda thread.

    Go Here :
    http://www.gizmoninja.com/2010/08/1...splash-screen-and-boot-animation-its-so-easy/

    How to includes how to:
    Add your own splash screen.
Add custom boot animations and sounds.
Links to some cool apps and animations and splash screens.

what is the difference between a splash screen and a boot animation?
i have changed my boot animation already...
is the splash screen the white screen that says something like "HTC... " right before the boot animation?

I still cannot get my boot animation to change.

I have pushed to both /data/local and /system/customize/resource. I have tried both VZW_bootanimation.zip and bootanimation.zip. I have tried several methods. I have tried using mounting data and/or system and pushing it. I have tried the mount -a method and neither has worked.

I now have a splash screen that I like, but I just can't seem to get the boot animation to change at all. =(

I am running Adrynalyne's Third Wave ROM.

I believe Adrynalyne moved the bootanimation.zip file to /system/media

That's where it's located on his "One rom to rule them all"

Try pushing your new one there.

Finally got this working thanks, my images was being saved as indexed, as my computer was setup to print out quality from my designing, forgot all about it.

So quick note for everyone trying this, make sure you images (.png's) are saved in RGB mode :)

it moved again... my advice to you is to use rootexplorer to find it... its under /system/media now... and the name has changed back to android_audo and Bootanimation... no more VZW_bootanimation and VZW_Droid.mp3 it took me a minute to find it again too

    The instructions say:

    "Type in the following command: nbimg -F splash1.bmp -w 480 -h 800"

Do we need to change it to 480 by 854 for the Droid X, as well as the original image size?
