does unrevoked work with the latest OTA? If not is there another really easy partial root method like unrevoked? Im not trying to flash any roms I just want to run wireless tether and titanium backup and I have very little knowledge of this stuff.

The unrevoked method for the new OTA is not one-click, and does not look so easy public:evo_ota_2_patch [RootWiki]

Maybe try this instead from XDA [Program] SimpleRoot OTA 1.47.651.1 Edition - xda-developers

yes. use appbrain to get your list of installed apps, you'll lose all of your data, but thats the cost of getting free wireless tether (save 29.99 dollars/month).

I read through it but im still really confused, I have no knowledge of any of this kind of stuff. I wish they had step by step instructions or a video guide or something. How would I install fresh with that method?

After Step 4, get ROM Manager from the Market. Then using ROM Manager, Download and install the Fresh ROM.

Try the guide in my signature for better battery life. Also, Baked Snack is another custom ROM that has the latest OTA.
