Help editing and selecting text

Hi,

I'm thinking about buying Orange San Francisco but I wonder how typing and editing text works because I send many texts everyday.
There are no arrows and trackpad so how it works?

I wanted to see a demo mobile but Orange don't have any
Also I couldn't find any video on youtube showing this.

Is it like in HTC Desire HD (this mobile doesn't have trackpad too):
