Just got a Nexus 7 2013 and immediately upgraded to 4.4.2. The setup of my Google account and all corresponding apps went fine. The problem is the 'other' email app.

When I select Settings>+Add Accounts there is no option there to add anything other than a second Google account. The option to add another email account (such as my work exchange account) does not even exist.

No apps have been disabled on the device. When I look at the list of All Apps, the only one I see that pertains to this is one called Exchange Services. It has the same icon as the email app, but the app itself is not there.

Any thoughts on where it is and how to get it back? Thanks all.

The upgrade would not have caused that, but I switched to K9 Mail and like it.

Any idea how I can get the stock email app back on the device? Is there an apk somewhere that I can load?

Worth to try: Setting/Apps. Scroll to Disabled.

Already checked that...nothing is disabled. It's just gone.

I figured it out...the app was disabled. Unlike my Android phone that lists disabled apps in the same list as all apps, the Nexus 7 has a disabled list separate from the All list. I wasn't scrolling far enough to the right to see it.

Sure enough, the app was disabled.

Sorry for the unnecessary posting. Thanks for all that helped.

The reason I switched to K9 Mail is that the stock app would sometimes delete mail from the server and sometimes not, even though I had it set to never delete from the server. I still retrieve email to my laptop but usually view it first with my N7 just because of the way I use the two devices.

I used Touchdown a number of years ago but found it too much for what I needed. I may have to check out K9 and others.

I just installed K9 Mail a few days ago. I have a Linux server at home as my main system. It sucks down mail from my ISP and gmail. I have an IMAP server running on it. My Linux laptop uses thunderbird and connects to the imap port on it. So, since the tablet is so fast, I thought I'd try an IMAP client on it and came across K9 Mail as highliy recommended. Love it so far. It does just what I want. Even set up my gmail account on it with IMAP to see how it behaved.

I use Aquamail for my iCloud account and it syncs well across all my Apple devices - and instantly both ways.
