Have a Samsung J3(2016) aka SM-J320P. Android 5.1.1. I haven't been able to receive any emails since 7/22. I have not knowingly changed any settings. Any ideas?

Silly, but have you tired a simple reboot of your phone? Also check the sync setting in your phone to see if anything has changed.

Are you using Gmail app? After trying the above you could always clear the data from the gmail app and sync it again to see if that helps.

Don't know where to find sync settings, did try the categories under the setting icon, I wouldn't know if anything has changed. I don't delve into the inner workings. No I used the generic email app that shows up first. And I would have no idea as to how to reboot the phone unless instructed.

Rebooting is not the same as resetting. Just turn the phone off and turn it back on. You'd be surprised at how many issues can be resolved by this :)

Settings, Accounts, Google and look at the sync setting for Gmail. However it does sound like your not using the gmail app, find it in the app draw and start it up, pretty much automatic. Then you can simply clear the data on the other email app to stop it picking up your mail. (Or not in your case)

I would definitely check the e-mail application settings to see if it changed anything. I had it forget my settings once after I backed-up the settings to my Samsung Account. Or Google might have expired your session with your log-in (or whatever other provider you use) and you might need to log-out amd log back into the application. I also prefer how simple the default application is, though I use it mostly for sending attachments and for like Viber back-ups to e-mail to myself. I check e-mail on GMail mobile.

If worst comes to worst you could reset the application and set the account up again to see if it works. But first bet would be to check the Sync Settings
