Support Email Stuck on "Loading"

    Hey all.

    My google-fu has failed me and I really could use some help.

    I've been using the default Samsung email app for an imap account associated with my own domain/hosting and my work email whilst using Gmail app for everything else.

    Everything was working fine until a couple days ago and now I'm not longer receiving notifications from the default mail app. Every time I try to open it, the app is stuck on the "Loading..." screen and just spins endlessly. I've force closed the app, restarted my phone, hard reset my phone, and reformatted to system default and it's still not working.

    I don't understand why suddenly it's not working. To my knowledge, nothing really changed between then and now. The only thing that did change was I attempted to install the Skype app. I got the same endless loading screen when I attempted to login to it, but have since deleted the app all together.

    I know there are other email apps out there, but it'd be nice to figure out how to get this working again...

    Thoughts?

    Try hitting Menu>Settings>Applications>Manage Apps

    Hit All... scroll to Gmail (there may be TWO of them) and clear the cache and data of each of them.


    Give it some time to reload.

    Can you log into it from a computer or through the browser?

    Try changing your password?

    I don't think the credentials are the issue. I'm using the same login in the browser and on my desktop client... I can't even get to a screen in the app to change my password or add/delete an account.

    If you go to Menu>Settings>Accounts

    Click on the one that says google account.



    At the very bottom mine says "Sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly." It also has a little trouble icon next to Gmail.

    That's probably the problem. :)

    No, it's not the gmail accounts that are having problems. It's my two imap accounts in the default Samsung email app. Those accounts aren't even listed in Settings>Accounts & sync. Gmail is doing fine.

    Bah. I don't know. I'm about ready to give up on this. I just hate having defective software that I can't uninstall.
