Hello everyone I rooted my Samsung Galaxy S4 GT 19505 running android 5.0.1 a couple of months ago to get rid of some bloatware! Today I decided to encrypt my phone after watching a few YouTube videos on the benefits of it. I had used 12 of the 16 GB of internal storage and I understand that my phone said it could take an hour or longer. I had been waiting for four hours with the same black screen and blue LED and I became a little worried. I looked up on How to geek and it said you should unroot your phone before encrypting. I fear I may have messed up my phone :/. Is there anything I can do to fix it and keep my data? If there is a way to fix my phone by wiping it that is okay as well.

    Thanks for any help!

Samsung Galaxy S4 is easy to get going again, but it will wipe any data stored on it.

If you want official Samsung firmware.
    http://www.sammobile.com/
You will have to sign-up to download.

Or custom ROMs for S4, I recommend CM.
