HTC EVO 4G review -- Engadget

    From review:

"We know what you're thinking, though: what about battery life? Amazingly, we got some three hours and 13 minutes of run time while using the EVO continuously as a 4G hotspot -- and when we say "continuously," we mean we were streaming high-quality audio the entire time. What's more, the phone wasn't even fresh off the charger when we started; it had been on and in heavy use for two hours and four minutes prior. Bottom line, this thing seems to be a champion on a 1500mAh battery; we can't even begin to fathom what a massive aftermarket pack would do to it."

Pretty good review. Only disappointment is the high end video recording compression which is expected.

Very pleased to hear the battery life appears to be not too bad at all.

Wow I wasn't expecting a review to be up this early! Props to Engadget. We're getting closer fellas.

Look at the video quality from any other HTC product, it's pretty much on par so I'm not surprised. They seems to have poor audio.

  17. An inexperience reviewer but an OK preview. The reviewer obviously does not know much about smart phones. Some points worth noting...

You cant watch HQ youtube videos over 3g (you can on Verizon android phones)

720p video recording is ultra compressed which means it not really HD

too much focus on 4G by WSJ

am I the only one that considers the 4g feature a bonus and not the best reason to buy an Evo?

Didn't like the WSJ review. Too much focus on 4G and barely anything in detail about the phone.
