Is it possible to flash an Engineering Bootloader onto the Mytouch 3G (32B)?

Just want to be able to use fastboot. I have seen some videos (mainly for G1) and just want some advice and instructions on how to do this. Dont want to brick my phone :)

    Thanks in advance!

From my understanding there is no need for an spl on the mytouch its a wasted step for us. The G1's have to do this since they have less ram then us and the ROM's that they build are bigger then the phone can handle.

I would like it for Fastboot, so it isnt wasted really. If I lose my recovery partition to a bad flash, I would have to install an official ROM again via HBoot as Fastboot is disabled on ours. With an Eng SPL, I could use that in case the recovery went bad and keep my ROM.

So it isnt a need, but I would like it for preventative measures
