enter pattern instead of fingerprint update

    Hi all.

    really NOT liking this new feature from recent os update [emoji22]..thanks Samsung

    I get this message every time I unlock device..as I didn't use hard power button to lock it ...why oh why?! [emoji22]

    ...email complaint has been sent [emoji6]

    There is a built-in security feature into the phone that requires the pin (and possibly the pattern, I'm not sure about this) when the phone is restarted. This is because the fingerprint feature is not believed to be as secure. This should not be the case when you are simply unlocking the phone.
    Have you tried playing with the Smart Lock feature in settings?

    both feature appear to have been broken by google it seems :( well, if you use a 3rd party app to lock the device they have

    Are you using a third party lock screen? If so, you should reach out to that app developer to see if they can fix this. Can't expect the OS to automatically adapt to third party apps - it has to be the other way around :)

    yes third party app - ive asked the dev - but seems that the new security update has locked this access down to them :(

    just spotted post on xda about app called screen off via short delay...works a treat [emoji2]
