Here it is...
HTC - Developer Center
Bring on the OC!
Could this help us leakers achieve root?
thats exactly what it means. It also means the OTA shouldn't be far off
the release date is feb 1 2010..... isn't this the 1.5 source code thats been there for a while? I don't see 2.1 anywhere, but I am unable to open the file here at work. just asking...
Actually the release date is 4/30/2010, not sure what you are looking at. Maybe you are viewing a cached copy of the page. Try clearing cache and reloading.
I'm seeing the same thing (the old version). It's not an old cache, as I've never visited that site before. I did try Chrome and IE 8... no go. I also don't see the Incredible download like another thread states is there.
i see that it says 4/30 . . . does this mean rooters can place apps to SD now?
For you guys that cant see it, I upped it to mediafire. Here ya go
Both the same link...
I'm going to go on record and say this has me excited. Getting my 2.1 phone rooted would be super.
edit: maybe not....xda devs say that this won't do anything for non-rooted 2.1 leakers.
Geez... Give them some time. It just came out this morning. They're prob just saying that it wont help leakers so that they aren't inundated with the same question over and over.
Give it some time, They have been waiting for this for a reason. I believe it will help everyone, rooted or leaked.
Its just a bit odd that HTC released the 2.1 Kernel before the 2.1 OTA is even out. So, one would assume that the OTA will be following.... eventually
The best assumption that can be made is that, since this kernel matches the leak v3 kernel, that the leak v3 is using the kernel that WILL BE the OTA kernel. So if the v3 leak is not exactly the OTA version, it is very likely CLOSE to the OTA.
I like your assumption Paul. The last kernel didn't seem to do a whole lot for the developers but only time will tell. Maybe somebody has some extra special skill to find the exploit and stuff the root through the hole.
Droid Eris MR by HTC (Verizon) Kernel Source Code 56.3 MB 2010/04/30
I copied that directly from the site. I find the MR interesting because I wouldn't think of 2.1 as a MR but I'm interesting to see what those who know what they are doing say about the release.
hey I assumed it first! LOL
They probably have said that to head off people asking "will this give us root ?".
havent found anything about it being finished though.
did you find something?
Framework's almost done with a rom that'll have overclocking.

"Go look at my heroc commits for the heroc on github.com. I've added my latest oc source there. Also for setcpu u need to use custom settings and make a setcpu.txt and put it on ur sdcard. I've gotten the heroc stable at 768mhz with that code and if u use setcpu u can adjust ur min and max freq to whatever u want. To save battery or get awesome fps in games. My current code scales really well and is much nicer then mine and phhussons first oc patch."
this appearently works on the eris as he posted it on the eris forum, only problem is i cant seem to find what he is talking about on github.
if someone can give clearer instructions on how to get to the code thatd be awesome
Not sure if this is what he was talking about, but I found this: toastcfh's htc-2.6.27-heroc at master - GitHub
I checked it out, but looking at code makes me feel like an idiot!
