Eris to remember logon username + password for sites

i'm used to firefox where i'm asked if i want it to remember name and password logons

is there a similar function with my droid eris?
with some sites have to re-enter every time phone powers off

I use Dolphin browser and yes, it does. You can turn it on/off in the settings.

I've considered trying the Dolphin browser in the past. can I keep the browser that comes with the eris? and if so how does the phone know which browser I want to use

Yes, the stock browser will always be there.

After you install Dolphin, it will ask you which browser you want to use the next time you go to the web. You can select to make it default, or to ask you every time. If you ever want to change what your default browser is, go to Dolphin's settings and you will be able to uncheck the Default tab.

The only issue with Dolphin is that if you still want to use the Favorites widget, you have to set the favorites in the stock browser for them to show up in the widget.
