I had these two apps working, one finds the current latitude and longitude, the other to upload to MySQL via HTTP using the URL string variables. They were working nicely, have been the whole week.

This morning, when I started them again, with my Samsung Galaxy S5 connected, it threw this error:
Error can't bind to local 8600 for debugger'

I can see that the apps logging successfully onto the remote MySQL server but the remote server disconnected my apps after they threw the local-8600 error.

Google is littered with people asking what it is? Many gave up and de-installed he latest version of SDK, IDEs etc and went back to the old versions of everything , then it worked again.

I hopped onto Windows 7 Powershell and
    c:> netstat -nao
to see whether it is a combination of IP and port, but no, 8600 isn't even there.

I have been at it the whole afternoon, does anyone know what it is????????

Am trying to install Android Stetho to track down this problem, seems network security related

    RESOLVED.

Tidied up Windows 7's host file here:
    C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\host
No harm in making sure you have this line "127.0.0.1 localhost" in host
You might want to map your remote host "www.remotehost.com <ip-address>"
You cannot append a port number to the ip-address.
    Delete gobbledygook like "::1 localhost"
Tighten the .PHP on remote MySQL host.
    REBUILD the project.
    Reboot Android Studio 2.1.2
Uninstall the one on smartphone and reinstall.

    It works again :)

It also helped to panic a bit :(
