I get an error in the Android recovery screen <2e>:

asser failed: apply_patch_check("BML:boot:..random characters and numbers..)
    E: Error in /cache/6d053faea71a.update-SPH-D700_DI07ToDI18.zip
    (Status 7)
    Installation aborted.

Anyone else having issues applying the update? Any ideas what the issue here is?

I believe I am on the official baseband -
    Code (Text):
    1. version:  S:D700.0.5S.DI07
    2. Kernal 2.6.29
    3. Build #: SPH-D700 ECLAIR.DI07
    4. Hardware version: D700.0.5
    5. Firmware version: 2.1-update1
What would the xda version look like?

Are you also having issues installing apps from the Market place?

I did a full cache wipe and hard reset via the recovery console, and still got the error.

I finally got fed up and angry, and flashed the phone to stock DI18 manually via Odin. *OFFICIAL* SPH-D700-DI18-8Gb-REL.tar.md5 - xda-developers

    Worked like a charm.

    Now onto rooting and stuff.
