Help European maps?

I am heading to paris next week, and having GPS functionality would be cool.

are the European maps already "loaded" onto the Incredible? ie, if I turn on GPS when I'm over there, will it just automatically locate me?

also, how do I turn off the radio, so the battery doesn't drain? I know how to turn of 3g, but not the basic radio.

(I want to use just GPS and Wifi)

I think it was only recently that Europe even got the navigation app because Google was still trying to work out the kinks, so I don't know how much I'd trust our GPS over there.

From what I understand, the radio (1x) will turn on when the phone is on, so you'd have to keep your phone off in order to have no radio functionality (someone correct me if I'm wrong)
