Help ever since froyo my texting is slooooow

my texting says please wait while i swith to and off of a contact.. so talking to multiple people at once takes about 3 minutes to switch between chats.. none of my keys are precise... i try to hard hold e to hit 3 and it bring up speech to text... i hit t and it hits n... already calibrated it.. froyo junked everything.

if you have hundreds of texts per person, it will bog down your speed. you need to delete those texts (or backup with smsbackup). or go to your settings and have it delete every 200 messages.

FWIW, my favorite for this is Handcent SMS - but I caution you, don't bother installing a new sms app until the problem's fixed first.
