I'm going to be honest, I'm new to custom ROMS and rooting all together, so I have a feeling I followed a bunch of tutorials that dug me a really deep hole that my evo will probably die in. T_T

I had done the unrEVOked3 root method for my evo when I was on froyo so I could use wirelss tether, and just recently saw a friend on gingerbread so I decided it may be time for an update. After a lot of reading a pain I made it to 2.3.3 Gb but a friend said that it goes to 2.3.5 so I obviously wanted the highest I could get. I used this one -

the odexed version, then did the de-odexed version, I also installed the radio. But, tons of things started going wrong such as constantly booting over and over, even after wiping and going to factory settings. So I decided to recover from my nandroid I backed up from froyo thinking that it would solve all of my problems, and now my phone wont boot past the htc evo 4g screen, but I CAN still open my clockworkmod recovery which is version 2.5-ish.

I would really appreciate any ideas, I seriously cannot afford to pay for another phone at this time.

Thanks in advance, aslo, sorry for all the information, I figured the more known the better.

    welcome to the forums!!!!!!!!!!!!!
actually this is the one you want this is the latest ota rooted rom you want:supersonic_4.24.651.1_odexed-signed2.zip
moved your thread to the rooting section
so go into recovery and wipe dalvik cache, cache, and data and flash this rom. once that is up then go back to recovery and make a nandroid backup.

also you might want to update your recovery as well. i would try swicthing to amon ra 2.3. go here:http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all-things-root/395962-guide-rooting-gingerbread-revolutionary.html and go to the switching recovery section. it will have the file and instructions on how to do it.

Thank you for the warm welcome :) I ended up putting my service on seasonal hold with sprint so I can buy out of my contract later, and signed up for t-mobile, sprint's service was terrible in my area anyway. But I guess radio shack is phasing out tmobile so they're giving away great phones so I got a dual core phone (LG G2X) for free with contract. but besides the point, I have to go out and pick up a micro sd card adapter for my pc, so once I grab that Ill try it out and update weather it works or not. once I get it up and running I'll most likely just sell it lol
