Will (should) there be native wifi tethering in the 2.2 (*without the Sprint security)?

I am trying to remember something I read waaaay back in May.

The actual dates still have some fuzziness, so I think we should promote that -

Not really, with all of the options and with words meaning things, I'm expecting this to simply cut down on the confusion for so many new users.

Internet sharing is a class of things.

USB tethering is a specific thing.

this is great news if it comes to fruition, Sprint knows they gotta be out Verizon to get the edge, plus would make them look really bad since evo came out before the Droid X, kudos to Sprint for making the Evo almost unbeatable with Froyo, color me excited!!!

The release paper says Tuesday 8/2 (I think they meant Monday 8/2)

"...pushing the notification of software available on Tuesday 8/2 (assuming everything goes well)"

Well, I think 8/2 was the start of the OTA push. It will be available for the early adopters on 7/30...well, that last part is what I'm hoping...otherwise, it means they'll do a selective 'test push' to a small number of users. But, one way or another, it seems somebody will get it tomorrow.

No doubt this is good news. Let's just hope this doesn't end up like a disaster. This would be a good way to kick off the weekend.

Exactly. Some people would hesitate to share the whole internet through their phone :)

    It bricks all phones?
    Update doesn't happen at all?

Why can't people make sure there's a thread on a certain topic before making one?

Internet sharing most likely. I noticed it was on the move last Friday.

If this updates tomorrow... will it make us (EVO) the first to get Froyo?

    EDIT: Other than N1 (obviously).

Most likely it isn't listed separate as it supposed to be a standard feature of Froyo I believe.
