My Evo rooted with C7 ROM will no longer boot up. Last night while it was charging I started hearing it vibrate every ten seconds. When I looked at the phone it was going from off screen to the HTC EVO 4G splash screen then off again. I pulled the battery, tried booting to the recovery screen, charging it and I can not get it to fully boot.

Anyone have any ideas or is my my phone bricked?

Can you get to recovery? If so I would wipe cache and dalvik and try to boot...

same here!! Updated to 2.3 and now my phone will not boot! it goes through the "htc Evo 4g" screen to the "Sprint 4G" screen then the 4g screen just keeps reloading over and over....

Seems that the unrooted phones are having a big issue with getting screwed up with this update.

Sprint store would be the next choice. Not much we can do with the new update yet.

Howdy - Im a noob - tried to root my Evo 4g this morning using unrevoked -
after about 3or4 failures, I tried to just boot the phone into the Hboot screen,
but it will not boot . I hold it down for WAY longer than it feels necessary but still nothing.

Did I mess something up ?

    -First time attempting Root-
    -Didn't work-
    -won't boot into Hboot screen
    -Help ?

Many Thanks - in advance !

go into phone settings/applications/ and uncheck fastboot. you should now get into hboot. also make sure you have the correct hboot to match with the way you root.

if your hboot is 2.16 then use this:http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all-things-root/395962-guide-rooting-gingerbread-revolutionary.html

if your hboot is 2.10 or less then use this:http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all-things-root/194918-rooting-dummies.html

    welcome to the forums!!!!!!!!!!
    are you rooted?

and you are much more likely to get better help in the Samsung Galaxy Y - Android Forums then in the htc evo 4g forum. i would post your question there. please provide more info as to what exactly the issue you are having so folks there can help you.

    good luck.
