Sprint Retail Stores that does repairs will have spare parts. If your lucky you may be able to get the repair techs to give you a spare battery cover. I've heard of people able to get replacement covers. If your trying to do some modding on your battery cover, try a sprint store.

How about a brushed metal battery door?

Would be EXTREMELY hard to make, and would likely give you bad reception.

Not THAT hard, actually... especially if you made them in bulk. You could easily stamp the cover from sheet and brush it. Small pegs to hook into the phone and you're set.

    As for the reception, idk.
