    Hey all,

I was just wondering if the glass screen on the EVO if it has any kind of special coatings applied to it or anything. The reason is because I am a mechanic and sometimes I have different kinds of fluid residue on my hands and although I keep my hands clean before touching it their can still be some residue of different things on my hands. This could be antifreeze to oil or solvents and if the EVO is in fact glass I should have no problem with hazing or having to worry if rubbing alcohol is used to clean off grease and other stubborn smears. So can my beloved EVO stand up to this or is there some kind of coating like sometimes glasses have.

Im pretty sure most touch screen devices have a coating of some sort. Just to be sure, get a screen protector.

I hate screen protectors because they always look bad in a week and they just feel horrible

I use alcohol pads regularily to clean the screen of oils without any hazing or other ill effect.

    Clean away!

You probably used cheap screen protectors in the past. With the newer gen of screen protectors, like Phantom Skinz (my top favorite), Zagg, Best Skins Ever, Ghost Armor, etc., the screen feels naked even with a screen protector on it.

Also something to keep in mind , you being a mechanic your fingers are gonna be picking up dirt and possibly metal shavings and who knows what else . Trust me I know I work in a mechanics shop that works on construction equipment . It wont take long before your screen is scratched and you will be wishin you had a screen protector to take the brunt of the damage .

You said exactly what I was thinking but thought I would be torched on these forums for even mentioning the idea.
