I have been looking for a good security program (wave secure ish) to load onto the android and iphones at my office. I found an option in Exchange webmail that says it can wipe any phone that is logged into webmail. Thinking that only the exchange account would be deleted I proceeded with the wipe.

To my surprise Exchange started the factory reset function on my phone. Total reset! Took 2 hours to get my phone back to normal.

Anyone else tried to use this feature?

Yes, it is an option that many administrators leave in by accident and some cases by design.

The logic behind it is to be able to rid a phone of all corporate stuff in the event the phone is lost or stolen.

To me it is a dangerous option especially if you tick off the administrator....
