    Stay away from external batteries.
Let me explain why. I have tested many different external batteries for my past smartphones, htc diamond, palm treo 800w and samsung intrepid.

I only purchased brand name batteries from Best Buy and Buy.com, not cheap generics from unfamiliar websites and the like. From my experience with all three phones and all the external batteries failed to work properly and I returned them and got a refund.

What I experienced was the batteries were sucking "juice" or battery life out of the phones. Once the batteries ran half way through their recommended battery time ie. amount of time to power customer's device. The externals started recharging themselves by sucking the life out of each of the phones and robbing each phone of it's own battery level. I had digital battery indicators on all three phones that showed the percentage of battery life so I was able to identify that this was truly happening.

I hoped that if one type didn't work I would try another brand name external but each type I tried failed to recharge the phone and did the exact opposite by sucking the life out of the phone.

I hope this helps you to understand to stay far away from ever considering buying an external battery and if you dare to try one then make sure you read up on the return policy and be ready to get your refund if the device fails to power your phone.

Hmm.. so then where can I buy zte warp replacement batteries then? And how would I carry it? I usually have my usb drive + keys in one pocket and my phone (to not get scratched) in the other..

But most importantly where would I buy it :D

They were on ebay for a while, but over $30.

When I had my Samsung Previal, I bought 3 batteries with the charger a little less than $15.

Personally just stick with turning off your 3G and using advanced task killer. This has helped my battery life a lot. I would not recommend using any other battery besides what comes with a phone based on the fact that the stock battery was designed to work with the phone. Using any other battery with a specific device may not be compatible and could potentially damage it because it was not meant to work with the phone. Just my own personal opinion. I mean afterall it is a smart phone.....no smart phone has a GREAT battery life. I am not saying it WILL damage the phone BUT it could just so I am clear.

for me the task killer done more harm than good,, way better battery life without it,, all i use is watch dog... all the task killer did was kill the apps and then they would start right back up and on and on,,, which is hard on the cpu, idk, you may see results but i didnt,,, was quite the opposite

Well first off guys...... If your trying to kill things from running and then turning on over and over again download the app "autostarts" an this works well ( MUST HAVE ROOT ). It works so well that ya better watch what ya turn off because it will mess things up if ya don't know what your doing or turn off the wrong things. Now about Extended life batteries......I'm not sure of the quality but these are on eBay and will really extend the life of your phone. There a little bulky but that's the price ya pay for 3800mah. They also sell a 2000mah that I think will fit into the regular phone without a fat back.

At that price, I will try. I already use a hybrid otter box so my phone is already the size of a brick, but it is safe, lol.

I totally agree. Had the exact same results with task killers.

Please do. The only thing that kept me buying these extended batteries is how the speaker opening is elevated away from the speaker itself.

I for one would like to know your experience with them. Thanks.

In my MetroPCS days I had a LG Optimus M and a Samsung Galaxy Indulge. I bought off brand extended batteries and doors for both. With my usage pattern my Optimus went from 10 hours to 35 hours. My Indulge went from 5 hours with 4g on to 26 hours with 4g on.

In other words, night and day results. Also I made an informed decision by buying batteries that were previously reviewed by other phandroid'ers. (Take that back, I reviewed the Optimus M battery).

I was almost set on a Marquee since it already had an extended battery available which at the time the Warp did not. Now I have to rethink things!

When i managed a few radioshack stores, and these portable chargers came out, they were all junk, but there really are some decent ones out there, I carry my IGO ChargeAnywhere everywhere i go, I leave the house with it fully charged, and if my phone gets low just plug it in, I don't know a way to exactly " test " this theory, but unlike the older portable chargers, this one does not make any effort whatsoever to recharge itself off your phones battery, im basing this on experience and use, and how my phone will be down to 9% and i can get almost an entire charge out of the portable. Problem is a lot of the crappy ones have a very low capacity and MAH. This one I use, has a full capacity of 1800 mah, and outputs @ 850, very pleased with it. [IMG]

Received the extra batteries with charger and after about a week here are my findings. Took about 17 days to receive item. One thing I noted was that you have to train your phone going from a 1600mah to a 2000mah battery. Once you complete the training for the new battery you will be just fine. Here is how I did the training; credit goes to "Alsaces Daddy" who posted these steps.

"Do you have cwm? Go in to it and go to advanced settings. Click wipe battery stats. This is only after charging the battery to the FULL 100% with the wall charger you said will charge it completely. Not in the phone. Then let it drain all the way down to 0%. A full battery drain. Then charge back to 100%. It should recognize the new battery after charging and depleting a couple times. But you only wipe stats once."

The extended battery I just ordered comes with a replacement back cover.

My question though, and I read prmax's other thread discussing his charger, my new battery is not coming with an alternate charger so I will have to charge it via the phone to 100%. I wonder if I will have to purchase a charger to get the batterystats to read right.

Also, has anyone heard of these guys? http://www.ontrion.com/

I haven't been able to get much on them through google. They have a couple products on amazon is the best sign they are legit. They are supposed to have/or are going to have a 5100mah battery for the warp out soon.
