Extended battery - wish I had gotten it sooner!

Finally bought one because they're $25 from Verzion. Right now at 21.5 hours with 60% left. I'll admit I was fairly light on using the phone today but still nice. My regular battery wasn't too terrible, it would usually be dying right around when I was ready to go to bed. Was plugging it in almost every night, if I didn't it would usually be dead when I woke up.

I actually like how it makes the phone feel. I didn't like the Razr because of how skinny it was and the Bionic with the TPU case on it was at least a little better, but with the extended batt/door on it really suits me. Most people probably want their phone as thin as possible but I actually like it this way. I think I actually like the added weight as well. I just sold an HTC HD2 that belonged to a relative and I liked how hefty that felt. Now my Bionic is almost like that.

Saw some "Extended battery cases" on eBay that were simply TPU cases with part of the back removed so the door would poke through. Saved myself a few bucks and took a pair of scissors to the TPU case I already had and it works fine.

Your experience sounds similar to mine. The standard battery was OK; just getting me through an average day. I do wish the extended battery was just a bit thinner, but it really isn't bad at all. I love the fact that I no longer have to keep an eye on battery level throughout the day. My only gripe is that the back cover that came with the extended battery doesn't seem to fit as tightly as the standard cover, and leaves a bit of a gap on one of the bottom corners.

I also just bought one this week. It's made a world of a difference, I'd end up with 20% battery life by bed time, last night I was still at 60% and I use 4G not wifi. Amazing.

I picked one up about 6 months ago, I can't survive the day without it now, but i do miss the slim-ness of the original package.

There's a tpu case made for the extended battery, I've got that one and the standard battery case. love them both, I also have the shell holster combo from Verizon made for the extended battery. I've had the extended battery probably since last September or October and also have 2 spare standard batteries so I never have to worry about battery life with my bionic.

Right now I'm at 1day 17hours with 30%. Awesome. I wanna see if I leave it alone tonight if I can get the remaining 30% to make it to 2days lol. Yeah it would be nice if it was just a tiny bit thinner, too bad they couldn't make it line up right with the camera hump. Kinda goofy that the stock battery was smaller so the phone had that little curve in the back, and the extended one sticks out past the camera. Stock battery should have just been a little bigger and even with the camera.

Yeah New Rising don't get me wrong I realize there are fully formed TPU cases that fit the whole thing without having the opening for the door in the back. I just meant when I saw the ones on eBay that had to door cutout I figured I would just do that with the case I already have and save a few bucks.

I got an extended battery and it still sux. I thought it was a legit motorola battery but maybe I got fooled. I got it from gorilla gadgets online. Its worse than the original.

I gave that website a quick look and it certainly doesn't look like they sell anything OEM. All that came up when I searched for Bionic is a 3500mah with their own product label on it. And you wouldn't be the first person to experience what you're dealing with, I remember a while back someone here bought an eBay extended battery and said it was terrible and probably worse than the stock battery. I've heard many times that the off brand batteries aren't worth anything. That's why I was happy to see the official one had come down in price.

You might get a good third party battery or USB cable. On the other hand you might not. What makes the ones with the Motor la logo on them so "good" is the stiff quality assurance they have to go through before being released for purchase. The "bad" ones are tossed out.

This is the reason that some people will by third party and swear by them ... in short ... they were lucky.

Could get a extended battery cheap but im just gonna pick up a razr maxx used. Bionic feels like junk compared to the razr.
