So, I am looking for a bluetooth (or, if available, a keyboard that will connect via micro-USB) keyboard that will work with the Thunderbolt.

I don't exactly want to buy a laptop, when I have a COMPLETELY capable phone. All I want\need, is to write\type\take notes in class. So, if I can get ANY external keyboard that will work with it, I can just set the phone up on it's stand, and I'm GOLD.

    Any suggestions? Is this possible?
I researched it a bit, and found this keyboard: Freedom Pro Universal Bluetooth Keyboard for Smartphones / Tablets at MobileCityOnline.com

Which is [supposedly] the only BLUETOOTH keyboard that would work with the Thunderbolt, because you can download the necessary drivers for it through the Android Market.

I know, I was just wondering if there were any other (cheaper) ones...

I've been looking up external keyboards as well for the TB beast but i've only came across the Freedom Pro, which is the one you've found. Any others are having problems with the HID configuration and driver.

I was wondering if someone has a video of the external keyboard working with the TB. I'm curious to see if it has a home and/or back button functionality.

Well, I just ordered the Freedom Pro -- expedited from Amazon (pretty much need it for class, asap)...

I couldn't find any other alternatives - especially ones with good reviews.
I will post a review here, if people end up wanting one.

With the battery issues this phone has, I would prefer to have a keyboard that connects through MicroUSB rather than BT. Even better would be a keyboard that includes a rechargeable battery that changes the phone's battery. The ASUS Eee Pad Transformer tablet has this kind of accessory with Honeycomb 3.1. I think this kind of capability is specific to ASUS now but have heard it will be added to Ice Cream Sandwich for other devices.

I thought the same as you, but, the only time I will be using the keyboard is when I am connected to WiFi (the 4G radio won't be raping my battery), and right after the class, I am home and able to charge my phone...

However, depending on how you plan to use the keyboard, I can see how\why you'd rather have a wired keyboard.

    Tumeg,

Mind giving us a review on that keyboard? I am in the same situation as you and was considering purchasing one, but have seen reviews that said it had trouble keeping up with even slow keystrokes (and I am definitely NOT a slow typer...). Your thoughts on the device would be greatly appreciated!

Did you get it? Did it work? Was it worth the 70 bucks?

I got it for much less than that on ebay. Works great. No problems.
