Does anyone know how to turn on the Face Unlock feature? I can't seem to find it in the settings. But I'm certain JB (4.1) and higher has this built in. In fact, I found it running in the background (cached processes). Yet I can't figure out how to turn it on to test it out. Thanks!!
You can find it under Settings | Security | Screen Unlock. I'm not positive if the Warp has one, so I'll toss in that a front facing camera in required.
Yes! This is where I looked. But it's not there for some strange reason. Also, the Warp 4G LTE does have front facing camera. I think they all have one except for the original WARP N860.
I originally made it for the sequent but in theory it should work on any android phone from 4.0.4 to 4.1.2 http://androidforums.com/showthread.php?t=739451
No luck with the Face Unlock. I flashed it and nothing happened. It doesn't appear in my settings. My phone runs Android 4.1.2 As I've noted previously, I did see a file under ALL apps settings that says Face Unlock. So I'm thinking it's on the phone just not showing up in the settings. When I click on it I have the option to Force stop or Disable. It says that it is version 4.1.2610838
if its on the phone someone should be able to get it to show. just a little time is need to get to it.
I got a little further but still can't activate Facelock on the phone so that it shows in Security, Screen Lock. I'm running Nova Launcher and I can access Facelock settings thru shortcuts on the homescreen. It's under the Activities shortcut. Scroll thru alphabet to F and there are 4 settings within the Facelock dropdown. Looks like all the guts of Facelock are there. I did the face recognition successfully and the "you're all done...look at your screen to unlock" setting is there also. UPDATE: Reinstalled Facelock apk via file manager, rebooted, still won't activate in settings. Something is blocking it.
Thanks!! I'm on NOVA launcher too.. and I followed your suggestion. It claims to have accepted my face, but my phone isn't locking.
I will post this here: It IS possible, but it's going to take a hack into the settings.apk The ZTE Awe has this same issue too. The FaceUnlock.apk is on the device, but no menu entry. I am currently using the settings.apk from the ZTE Source, which got more love than us apparently. The setting is enabled there natively, so I can use it just fine. I do not recommend using the Source's settings.apk however, because it's kinda jumbled and doesn't work correctly 100%. Wait for someone to add it to the settings.apk is my suggestion.
I've got some great news for this! I've got Face Unlock working on the Warp 4g, but I'm just waiting on another developer to let me know how to enable to aosp lockscreen. You guys will get both (hopefully)!
