So, I was having this issue on my last Galaxy S3, but didn't expect to carry over onto my new one that I just bought today.

After entering my details correctly, it immediately comes up with the below message. My connection is fine, because all other apps work fine. It's just Facebook and Messenger.

    Hi.

I think you should try and log in via your web browser. This is just to check if your account hasn't been changed or, worse, disabled. Regardless of if it works or not, you should seek help from Facebook, themselves. This seems more like a Facebook problem than an Android problem.

    Hi,
Go to settings >storage>cached data>clear cached data.
Go to settings>data usage> carrier name>scroll down to Facebook app.
    Tap on this.
Scroll down to " restrict app background data".
Uncheck in the box next to this.
    Still issues,
    Settings>storage>apps>download manager clear data.
    Settings>storage>apps>google play store clear data.
    Uninstall Facebook
    Reinstall Facebook.

If you've had this problem with two different, successive phones that really does indicate there's an issue with your Facebook account. What happens if you try to log into your account using https://m.facebook.com
