I just set up my Droid Eris to sync my contacts with their Facebook profile so that their photos would show up in my contacts. I synced them all and them matched up properly, but their pictures are not aligned properly. When I first did it, their faces were aligned and everything looked ok, except some pictures were pretty pixelated. But after a few minutes, the pixelation went away and the quality of the pictures was better, except a lot of my contacts have their head not in the photo or just misaligned. More than half are off.

I thought at first it was that they didn't set up their picture properly on Facebook, but I looked at their mini pictures (like the ones that show up in the news feed) and their faces were showing up properly. Even their mini pictures on the facebook app are correct. And these seem to be the same size as the pics in my contacts.

Why is it that my contacts photos aren't aligned right on some of them and how can I fix this?

    Thanks!

I have the same issue. Tried everything and I can't fix it. Kind of funny actually, as it chooses to center on a few of my female friends' boobs

haha...hmmm...so there's no way to fix this? It's unacceptable for it to be this way. Half of my contacts' faces are cut off. Will this be fixed with Android 2.0?

Is this an issue that all Droid Eris users have or just a few?

hmmm....I'm not sure why some of us are having this problem and some aren't. I emailed HTC about this problem, but the advice they gave didn't help.

I tried this and it didn't help. I'm not sure what could be the problem...

I figured out the problem. It's not a sync error with Facebook. I think it's just something that needs to be patched on the phone (or Android). The contacts whose photos are being cut off need to have black bars on their photos. When the image is synced to my phone, the phone zooms in, in order to fill the entire block with their pictures. But for contacts whose photos are taller and thinner, this is not good. It cuts them off in order to fill in the block.

How do you sync facebook (profile photos) to droid eris contacts?

Open up a Contact, hit menu and choose to edit. If you scroll down there is an option that says "Facebook - Tap to link a friend". You can then attached your friend's Facebook profile to the Contact.

I had the same issue. After a week or so they would appear. Have no reason why.

Do you have to do this for every contact you want to sync?

My pics seem all pixelated. Any ideas?

I'm having an almost similar issue, but not with new friends, just all of them that are in my phone contacts. When I try to link from Facebook, everyone from my friends list shows up, except the one person I want to link to that phone contact.

This has been happening to me too... no matter how much I "sync" or "update" or "refresh", a new friend will not show up until usually the next day or two. Very frustrating

I've already linked most of my contacts to facebook and their profile on my HTC Eris.

I'm running into an issue where it seems my contact isn't updated as they change their default picture and status. I even tried to completely delete the contact and re-enter it into my phone. I can't seem to figure out how to change the default picture to match up with whats on their profile. Does anybody possibly know how I can do so?

    Thanks a bunch!

I'm having problems where my contact facebook photos will simply disappear and then they MAY reappear days, weeks, later. Any ideas how to stop this from happening because it's rather annoying.

You can't choose alignment with our software.

You could try SyncMyPix instead (Free from Market) and see how well that pulls peoples' pictures down, instead.
