Check your Facebook app settings it's buried in there

i have looked in Settings & Privacy but can't find it

Look in preferences, shortcuts, notification dots inside of the Facebook app.
Toggle it on or off from there

You may have to clear cache for the Facebook app. If that doesn't work it may be a glitch that your phone itself can't fix.

it's okay i'm using Facebook Lite and i contacted Facebook via email and are still waiting for them to get back to me

I have a Kindle Fire and everytime I load the Fb app it shows me the sideboard menu button, but not friend requests/messages/notifications. I try to use the menu button, and rather than pull down the list of options, it refreshes the page...leaving the same buttons missing. It won't let me update my status either. Any help with this problem is appreciated!

Sounds like a long standing issue that Fakebook needs to fix. Good luck!

BTW there is not much else you can do at that time for like customer support, I think I did stumble upon something ages ago.. But turns out to be a fluke, best of luck of those who are fighting with fb, crystal clear, better to make a new account.
