    Hi all,

I have the problem where my contacts in the "people" application are not getting the pictures sync'd accross from facebook. I can see all the pictures fine if i go into facebook under "online directories" but they are not syncing to the main "all" tab for the people app.

I have googled this and tried all the solutions I can find:

    - removed facebook for HTC sense from "accounts and sync" then readded it and resync.
    - Refreshed facebook friends under "online directories"
    - Downloaded the app "syncmypix" which gives error "picture download failed" for all photos

So I have a rooted HTC desire using 2.1 firmware. The contacts I use are from gmail but obviously I have them linked with the facebook profiles.

This problem started when I went into the application manager and accidentally cleared data for the "people" application while I was messing around :/

    Please help!

uhhh. Don't know what I mean really.

I have rooted my desire, If i go to settings > about phone > software information, it says firmware 2.1.

    Hope that makes sense.

Ok that has nothing to do with root ;) just try uninstalling and reinstalling Facebook and see what happens

It's a system app isn't it? I've quote "uninstalled" it via aTrackdog but that just takes it back to stock standard i think?

There is no uninstall option in the normal android application manager.

You can try using a file manager to delete from system/app folder but you may have to s-off first

Sounds like you need to read up on the guides before you do anything else. A bit risky if you don't know what you are doing

You could try installing "Facebook for android" from teh market instead. This will take over your syncing from "Facebook for HTC sense"
