Am I right to assume that the Facebook app that comes pre-installed on my Desire is the 'Facebook for Android' app ?

If so its seems pretty basic so I was wondering if there is a better Facebook app I can install on the Desire ?

Also on this app when one person 'likes' your status you can see who it is but as soon as more than one like it there doesn't seem to be anyway to see who they are ?

    Regards,

Yeah the thing about not being able to see multiple people liking something seems very odd to me.
Only got my Desire a few days ago so I can't really help, but yeah that irks me.

Yep that app is terrible, and there isn't a better one. Just use the touch interface in the browser, it's much better:

Can't even tag people with the Facebook app :( It's quite out of date compared to other OS versions.

You think this version is bad, the one for Windows Mobile is a whole lot worse! I felt spoilt by the Android version. The iPhone one does seem to be even better.

Bloo gets a lot of favourable responses compared to the official Facebook for Android app. I haven't tried Bloo myself, so cannot comment.

Facebook for Android lacks quite a few things, but these are the ones I miss most:

    • You can't tag people in images
    • You can't rotate your images
    • You can't view your messages
    • No list of group/like/fan pages you follow (don't mind)
    • There is no chat (I don't use it anyway)

You can tag and rotate by using the browser to the full facebook site.

Bookmark the full browser version of facebook and make a shortcut on the homescreen to it, and just use the full web based facebook, in my experience using Dolphin HD its far better than any app ive seen anyway.

Also if you just want to see updates etc you can use friendstream.

    Thanks for the replys.

I have resorted to the above method and as someone else mentioned, saved it as a bookmark.
