facetime -like app for Android <--> iPad

I have an Asus TF201 running ICS; my wife has an iPad . She's in the hospital for a long stay and it's a long way, so I only get to see her in person a few times a week, so we want to use videochat on our mobile devices to stay in touch.

What is a good reliable videochat service that can go between Android and IOS, similar to Facetime on IOS?

I think your best bet would be skype. I'm not sure about other apps but Skype is free and it has free skype to skype calls so I would look into that for your Tranformer Prime and her iPad.
