I have a rooted Boost Stylo phone.
I've been having some issues and thinking about factory resetting the phone.
What concerns me with this, is that I have my phone rooted and made a few changes to the system directory.
Since I'm on Boost and have no custom recovery and made changes to the system directory, I'm a little concerned doing the factory reset. I remember a few years ago, running a custom rom and custom recovery and factory resetting from the phones options could soft brick the phone.
I have the stock recovery, since boost has the locked bootloader, but will the phones factory reset work even with being rooted and changes done to the system files?
    Thoughts?

Do you mind me asking why you do not have TWRP, it works great with the Stylo.

When I first got the phone 6-8 months ago, the Boost version could not have a custom recovery installed, unless I read that incorrectly.
I'll look around and see if I can install TWRP on my Boost phone. That would solve everything.

I still don't think TWRP Is available for the Boost and also I believe a regular factory reset would just wipe out your changes and overwrite them, so you should be safe and good to go.

    Thanks for the info.
I believe I have found the official system.img.
Currently I'm running the debloated Custom ROM Ver1.
I'm going to flash the official image, then factory reset.
My screen loses touch response around every other day that I have to hold the power button to restart the phone. Something else that happens, not sure if it's the phone or Boost network, but I miss quit a few text messages.
I used to be on Virgin and very rarely did I miss text messages, but Boost it's fairly regular. Starting to debate going back to Virgin....
Someone else I know who has the same phone on Boost also misses texts.....

I put TWRP on my wife's Stylo 3 months ago. Make periotic backups and clear cache, all is good. Just read the forums and follow instruction and all is golden.

I am on unrooted/stock Boost. My wife on Boost (different model phone). We both miss each others text messages sometimes. I don't know if it is this phone, her phone, or Boost. (Don't remember ever missing a text when I was on Virgin Mobile.) Yet it all goes thru Sprint so why would it matter?

It is Boost. I have been with them for about ten yrs and they have always had poor messaging service.

It's their service. Not impressed at all. Know 2 other people having the same issues.
Going to call Boost and tell them how disappoint I am with their service and what the issue is.
Watching the Virgin J3. When that get that rooted I believe I'm going back to Virgin, unless the Stylo I have can be used on Virgin.... Might have to see if that's possible....

So all are aware. I'm still on 5.1.1. Do not want to install MM since it can not be rooted on Boost.

I tried the network reset. Resetting the phone. Called LG, Boost.
I'm just tired of not receiving text messages.

So yesterday I got the Metro PCS version of the Stylo. I'm hoping the texting issue is the network, not the phone as I'll have the same issue if it's phone related. Been trying to text a lot to make sure everything comes through. If I have any signs of problems the phone goes back ASAP.
I haven't done a Google searched yet, Anyone know of any way to tell what text messages have been sent to your phone using a PC? that way I could double check and see if everything is making it to the phone?

The extra gig of RAM make the phone smoother then the Boost version for sure. I also have plenty of space for my apps now, it's got 16 gig ROM.
