I have a rooted galaxy note with ICS and I was wondering if it would be okay to do a factory reset.

The original Note is an old phone. The best thing to do is root it and put a custom ROM on it at this point if you really want to continue using it.

I think ICS runs better on the Note 1 than Jellybean does. But to answer the original question yeah, you can do a factory reset any time. It won't change the OS or kill your root.

I'm getting ready to switch from my Note 1 to an SIII. It has a better processor. More able to handle JB.
