Factory Restore after Update

I did the manual update for Froyo on my Epic this morning. Everything seems to be okay so far except for the keyboard when texting. Am I supposed to do a factory wipe after installing the upgrade? I pulled the battery a couple times because I wasn't sure if that was necessary, but I'd rather not wipe all my data unless it is completely necessary.

No, you should not need to do a factory wipe.

I just was told that "Quite of few Evo users had all sorts of keyboard issues with the Froyo update that cleared with a factory reset (wipe) - and only by doing that."

So perhaps a factory reset wouldn't be a bad idea.

Here's the Evo strategy to lose as little - or none - of your data between updates and/or wipes (along with some stuff that probably doesn't necessarily apply to the Epic) -
