Fake extended batteries

Hi, I've read some contrary opinions online so I'm just wondering if anyone can clear this up. Is it possible to increase a batteries capacity without increasing its physical size?

I've read on post that says it is impossible and another that they bought a slim battery which claimed to be high capacity but was in fact the same as the stock battery.

If this is the case then I suppose these should be avoided...

A lot of the extended batteries are indeed snake oil.

Stick with reputable brands and sellers, and ask for opinions in the forum for your phone model for solid recommendations from others with the same phone as you.
