Fast way to delete (Lots of) text messages?

I have like 1800 texts from one person, and I use handscent, and I'm pretty sure it would take hours to do this, is there a quicker way to do it. I'm not even sure it would even delete them all after hours to be honest.....

Any workaround?

In the default messaging app, tap and hold on top of the contact, and a window will pop up. Select delete and it will delete all that contacts previous texts.

Same thing works with HandCent.

It's fast in terms of the amount of effort required from you. If you suspect the phone is going to take a long time deleting them then do it just before you go to bed or something (and leave the phone on charge).
