Have you tried Tasker? I have many many many uses for Tasker, and among them is phone location.

I can text a keyword to my phone, from any other cell phone, and my phone will automatically turn on its GPS and find its location, moving speed, and battery life... then text all that information back to me, including a link to google maps to pull up a visual of the location (send this to whatever number I texted from), then turn the GPS back off to conserve battery life (granted, the GPS option isn't currently available on stock ICS phones since google locked it out).

It's fully customizable, where I could also have it lock my phone, or turn on an alarm so I can hear it, or call me back so I can listen to what's happening around my phone. :D

Have you tried the stock video app? It seems to have divx support from what I have seen.

This isn't specific to the LTE, but Subsonic is an app i use daily for my media server at the house. I used to know why i preferred it over Google Music or whatever, but now i'm not quite sure. Guess it's just a geekier way of streaming music...

Plus you don't have to duplicate your music onto the Google servers. ;) :)

Yeah, I downloaded four or five different video apps, I kept MX Player, but the stock player is very good.

Also, does anyone know of an app that I can use to condense my cloud streaming services? I want to be able to stream music from both my Google Play and Amazon MP3 accounts using a single app, but I have yet to find anything that supports both (or maybe I have but I don't know how to work the app, since I've tried 3-4 of them so far).

Thanks for any help in this matter!

It may not be the answer, but if you're interesting in streaming from your home server and cutting out the middleman, check out Subsonic.

PS as a general comment - for a video player, MoboPlayer is still my fave, Meridian for just music, your mileage may vary.

    I've really enjoyed this thread.

My top apps (in no particular order):
    -Chrome (browser)
-NFC Task Launcher (NFC tag reader/writer)
    -Cheezeburger (Meme viewer)
    -Google Reader (Blog reader)
    -Google Drive (Online documents)
    -Spotify (Internet radio)
    -Sat Track (satellite tracker)

These are probably the apps I use the most. They are functional for me, not just novelty.

What sucks even worse is when you are doing the right thing and Sprint takes away your unlimited hotspot plan that you are paying for and now "can't get it back". See my thread on Sprint frustrations. This is what drives people to go around their restrictions. If it wasn't for this bait and switch I would be posting about the apps I use on my new LTE :(

FoxFi isn't illegal, but some uses of it are against your contract's terms of service, so be warned that like in many places in life, trying to get something for nothing doesn't always work out.

    AndroidForums.com never condones illegal acts.

I do share the frustration of trying to get something for something and getting the runaround though, but as stated, that's a topic for another thread.

Cheers, thanks for your ears! :) ;)

I had Iris before but then I found speak to it assistant and it's my favorite. Skyvi sounds cool but I don't really need to try another since I like speak to it so well. But the apps I have on my phone are.

Dolphin Browser and I've had X-Scope and Miren in the past but I don't want to overload my phone with all these apps that do the same thing but I think I'll get Chrome I have it on my tablet.

Games- Word with Friends Hanging and Scramble with Friends,Dice With Buddies. I play those all the time.

    Out of Milk Grocery App

Fox Fi worked ok for me with my Transformer Prime but have only used it twice in the car on an hour road trip. I'm mostly always somewhere with wifi

    Sprint Users App, XDA App,

    Zedge

    Flixter

    Netflix

    Sprint TV

Caller ID Faker ( I call people from 867-5309 all the time too funny)

Desk Top Plus this phone has no app called Dock like the 3D for when you docked it in a home dock.

Android Assistant (It lets you control ringtone and notification volume separately and does more)

    Get Glue

    Yahoo Messenger

NFC Task Launcher (Just paid for last night but my tags it's not working right)

    Beat The Traffic

    Astro File Manager

I heart Radio, Tune in Radio Pro and Sirius Radio

    Handcent

(I want to try Vlingo again so it can read my text and I want to be able to speak things like send text to or call so and so and have it go through my Jawbone Era. Now when I hold down the button it brings up google voice search but it usually doesn't work while i'm driving and I don't think my voice is going through my headset.

I use Bluetooth launcher to make Google voice search come up when I hold down my bluetooth button. But like i said I don't think it is taking your voice through the headset and google voice had never worked well for me while driving.

    Amazon free app of course

Tango & Fring for video calling.

    Starbucks card

    Gas Buddy

    Speed Test

    Beautiful Widgets

Pic Say Pro and Photo Funia

    Tweet Caster Pro

Speak to it assistant too cool

    Tiny Call Confirm

Car Home Ultra for my car dock

    Foursquare

Ok I have more but that's most of them. I like seeing what everyone has.

I used to love astro but not long ago I needed to move some files and it would not work for nothing and I ended up loosing a lot of stuff. Found x-plore and that is great. Very easy to use and move files around.

Has anyone used Lama? I currently use Timeriffic to turn certain settings off & on automatically & it works pretty well (except for any time I deviate from my normal schedule...) but I just read about Lama in another thread & it uses cell towers? Sounds interesting. (I know Tasker is supposed to be pretty great but I think that might be way over my head!)

    I haven't tried Lama.

I suggest that you try going to the Tasker app on the market, then from there going to the developer's website. On that website there is a trial version of the app (one or two weeks). That way you can give it a shot and decide for yourself whether it would be over your head without paying anything.

You could also consider Locale. It works like Tasker, but it's much more user friendly, but also much more expensive (Locale requires paid plugins in order to gain the same functionality that is included in Tasker).
