What's your favorite unreliable starship? The Falcon? Serenity? Red Dwarf?
Mine is the Tardis.
Okay, too specific? How about your favorite sci-fi vehicle with...personality.
I like Serenity...at least as far as TV/films go...I am partial to the name since it's also my daughter's .
Also from Scott Sigler's GFL book series the Touchback would be pretty sweet, it's got a football field built into it
Nice one! How about the Cygnus? Powered by a miniature star, camped out at the event horizon of a black hole. Crewed by zombies.
The Heart of Gold with it's infinite improbability drive.
And don't forget it's cheerful doors and clinically depressed robot Marvin!
I hadn't heard of the Cygnus before...found it online seems interesting.
Yeah the Heart of Gold is pretty sweet can't deny that
It's from the Disney movie The Black Hole. My uncle took my brother and I to see it in the theater, that had to be around 78 or 79.
Hmmmm, all vary in unreliability, but no list is complete without HMS Camden Lock.
I would say everything that I've created with kerbal space program... can't even get to the moon.... it's all space *junk*
But, I would agree with Doit2it. Marvin is so funny. I could tell you but you won't like it.
Or maybe the Enterprise from TNG or Millennium Falcon... *shrug*
I was just about to name the Heart of Gold myself. That black stuntship was pretty memorable, too.
If you want scary, try the Event Horizon.
Oh yeah! Hotblack Desiotto's stardive ship....
I hadn't heard of Hyperdrive, I'll have to check it out.
Any one remember Nell from Battle Beyond the Stars?
Don't forget about Slartibartfasts's ship The Bistromath! Just as fast as The Heart of Gold, but none of that mucking about with improbability!
Oh, and in the same vein as the Tardis, I'll toss out the phone booth from Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure.
True, but imo the Tardis has more style.
It's not sci-fi but..
My favourite has to be this thing...
North Korea's Unha carrier rocket. It's supposed to go into space, proved 100% unreliable for three launches, it's junk.
Yeah I thought about that too...I think they have proven rocket science is in fact difficult
Maylon freighters are simply the worst.
holds a special place in my heart:
but i would definitely get some engineers to fix that stupid weakpoint.
Resistance is futile.
If less than one ohm.
How about the Planet Express ship from Futurama when Bender was having an affair with the ship?
I'm not familiar with that one, I'll have to check it out!
X-Wing, Deathstar, Millennium Falcon, Land Speeder, or one not from Star Wars the Tardis.
...or space piss
First response from the title is 3rd rock from the sun.
Ah yes that is classic!
