I just got off the phone with Motorola. Because of all the problems I'm having with the JB update, they are extending my warranty by 6 months (expired 11/11/12), and allowing me to send my phone in for repair/replacement. The only difference between this update and ICS, is that I'm finally sending my phone in. I had problems after ICS too. I have done numerous FDR's, cleared cache, even had a Motorola Level 2 Tech take remote control of my phone. I wish they didn't force us to take the updates, because I had the best phone I ever had with Gingerbread.

You should take root control and use your phone as you like. I'm still on gingerbread and not ever updating. No reason to IMO. GB is rock solid and does everything I need.
I hope you get it worked out to your satisfaction.
