I'm cheap. I also have insurance so fifty bucks will get me a new phone. Any cases out there comparable to the otterbox but priced more reasonably?

Comparable to Otterbox? No, don't think so.

Plenty of super cheap sleeves, though. Mine cost $2.99

I'd save some money by dropping the insurance and getting the case.

Yeah that's the cheaper one. I like the 50 dollar one with the belt clip.

The minute I drop my insurance I will lose my phone. Its what I do :)

Well you need to be more responsible then.
I personally would drop the ins and buy a good case.

I never liked Otterbox like cases. It can't be good to heat up the phone.

The one I have will not. Perhaps they have a case for the extended battery? I wasn't shopping for one, so I don't know....sorry.

Buddy, overpay if you must but I'm telling you amazon has the otterbox with clip for $30. It's the exact same as the $50 one.

hey you're right, I just found it. I don't know why I didn't find it before when I was looking around. I assumed when you said 30 bucks you were referring to the Commuter Case, not the Defender case.

and this will fit with the extended batter?

    Great case for standard battery:

    "Offwire Smart Series"

I found it in a local Verizon store (not corporate). It's part plastic, part pliable material. Nice and snug around the phone and sleek. And actually looks cool. Here's a link for reference, but it doesn't seem too accessible online. Very nice case.
