    Quoting Masefield;

My dream, though, is just beginning.

Got me Desire at long last.

Before I continue gushing, I'd like to thank EVERYONE who contributed in my earlier thread.

The wait wasn't easy. In fact, I'm itching to turn it on. Waiting for it charge before I fiddle with it all night.

I have an important client meeting early tomorrow morning. It is a pity that my client is most likely to see a towering zombie in front of him. :p

Ok, am off to do a quick check-up in the forum. Will fill this thread in later tonight.

    Peace, folks. Take care.

I tried to run a manual software update.

About phone -> System software updates.

I get the message - Your phone is up-to-date.

    Am I missing something?

'I must down to the seas again.' Nowhere is the word GO
You must be thinking of Spike Milligans version

I must go down to the sea again,
    The lonely sea and sky.
I left my socks and vest there,
    I wonder if they're dry

Congrats on your new phone though

Errrm, 2.1update 1. Is that it?

Edited. :) Didn't bother proofing after typing all that. Thanks for pointing out. And for the kind wish. :)

I reside in the Middle East, mate. Bahrain, to be specific. Mobile phones are not network-locked here.

Device updates for such "unbranded" phones - region specific..? I wonder... Never found any such detail online, though.

You should be able to manually install an official ROM! Try here for a guide and all the things you'll need :)

I think that's just what the doctor ordered. Thanks, doc! ;) :)

Will try it out and post a note in here.

Am itching to remove some pre-installed apps. Will update first and root later. Need to shift a lot of stuff to the SD.

Question: I recently installed 3CX & Nimbuzz (for VoIP calling). If I update to 2.2, do I need to wait for versions that are compatible with it? They are the only apps I have installed thus far.
