So I finally decided to Root my EVO with the unrevoked method. Id like to do some cool stuff like loading a custom ROM. Anybody have advice on the best ROM with some easy step by step directions on how to install it?? Headed back overseas soon, and Id like to show some of my fellow Marines why the EVO rules. Thank you, Semper Fi!

Do you like Sense or not?

If you like Sense try Warm two-point-two RLS3

If you do not like Sense try CM6.1

imo I would have to say Myn's Warm TwoPointTwo RC3 works really well for me. I would recommend it to anyone.

here is a link to xda-developers for Myn's Rom

I'm not sure if 4g is world wide yet. If not I would go with CM6.1.0 RL1 with Snapturbo7.6.

I'm running azreal 2.41 and its a very nice ROM. It's really fast and he has several themes you can flash that he has modified to work with his ROM.You also get AMAZING support with his rom since he is one of the most active devs I have ever seen. If you post a question in his thread he responds very quickly. If you look at his rom the theme pics are on post #4

Hey y'all, I just rooted but I've not found a way to uninstall the crappy Sprint apps, which was the whole reason I rooted. Do I need a custom ROM like one of those above to do this, and if so, how does one install such a ROM? Thanks!

Install Titanium Backup from the market and you can uninstall the apps you don't want.

Oh, okay. I did that, but I figured I'd try installing a new rom using a ROM manager. Is the boot screen supposed to hang for a long time?
