Root Finally rooted!!!

I just recently decided to and learned to root my phone. After a little confusion and hassle I was able to figure it out and get it done. Now im moveing on to Useing Rom Manager and downloading and trying to Roms. Im haveing problems adding to the roms once i have one "installed" for lack of the correct term. For instance adding bekit kernal to cyanogen. If I dont wipe and clear i get caught in a boot loop or boot freeze. is there a way to add to an existing rom or change a few things in it without the hassle of wipeing? Also is there a way to preview the roms before trying them on the phone? Thanks!!

visit the forums to preview the rom before installing. I am not sure about the bekit because I have never installed a cyanogen rom
