I've been reading up on rooting for about a year and a half now. I started with my Hero and now the Optimus and I'm kind of a chicken so I talked myself out of it. I didn't want to brick. finally took the plunge and used Gingerbreak from XDA thread and it worked flawlessly. Getting a custom ROM on there took me a little longer, but I think it's my own stupidity. lol. However, finally up and running Reborn ROM with the reTouched theme. LOVE!
