So is there any of you out there that use your Android for work and if so what apps do you use? What kind of case you use?

    Thanks...

Hi - I guess maybe some of us are like me, decoding the question. :)

So - your thread title points to public safety roles - are you asking about folks in that field using Android for work - or just folks in general?

I am a firefighter and I have an HTC Desire HD with an otterbox commuter case and I use the friction loss calculator app for pump operations.

you are right, I'm a firefighter and glad to help in this thread where I can

I am also a firefighter, but mainly run on a rescue squad.
I used the otterbox defender series case on my Droid X and highly reccomend them if they make one for your phone. there are also a lot of people at my stations that have iPhones and use the defender series case as well. I just got a Thunderbolt yesterday which they dont have an otterbox case for yet  but it should be out soon according to them.
and yeah I have played with the friction loss app too ;)
if you run the ems side there used to be (not sure if its still around though) a "pocket protocol" app too

I was going to dumbly ask if you'd gotten the G'zOne Commando - but I see you have. :p

Ok, not in your field, but I'm bored and no one else is responding, so I did a few searches, maybe they'll help spark some responses?

https://market.android.com/details?id=com.QuiteHypnotic.FireCalendar - Firehouse Scheduler, related apps will show on left panel you might want to see as well

    https://market.android.com/details?id=com.handmark.mpp.urgent - Urgent Communications (news)

https://market.android.com/details?id=com.fusionmobilesolutions.iScanner - don't know if things like scanners are useful to you, probably not

    https://market.android.com/details?id=com.informedpublishing.EMSALS - EMS ACLS Guide

Anyway, if any of that is even close, then just input the various key items you've listed into the Market search online.
